I personally am weary of all channelled messages in general. I'm not sure the divine beings would communicate that way, but I'm still undecided.

I view all channeled messages with a wary eye.

No, I'm not saying that all are phony or fake. What I am saying is that claiming something is channeled is totally unverifiable. A person could write any old thing and claim it's channeled, and who would know if it truly is or not?

I guess I would have to know the channeller, and feel that they are trustworthy and honest and not just trying to elevate themselves above the rank and file of humanity. A simple claim of channeling a message holds very little weight with me.

Jesus warned that false Christs would come and deceive many. Some of these false Christs spread their messages through channeling. Jesus has spoken to us through the Bible. Any message that comes from any other source and claims to be from Jesus is false.

Suppose it's real, why would anyone trust channeled messages in the first place? Any invisible thing can claim to be Jesus or an angel/alien etc and say sweet things. Just like humans can be deceptive as well about who they are.

I agree with the general opinion running through the previous posts.

Any entity could claim they are Jesus, even Satan could claim to be Jesus if he wished. The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie took on this topic when Rushdie wrote his novel about Satan calling himself the angel Gabriel when he came to Muhammad. The plot revolved around the fact that Muhammad once IRL declared that 3 verses were from Satan, and Rushdie suggested in his novel that not just the 3 that Muhammad declared Satanic were Satanic, but that every message from the 'angel gabriel' came from the same source ie Satan.

I think its safer to assume that all channelled messages are not from Jesus, than to be taken for a ride. If you're interested, it might be worth examining in what way the channelled message is different from the gist of the gospels, I find that sort of thing quite interesting, sharpening our powers of discernment so that we can't be easily fooled.
