Question Belief in Jesus Christ

Why do people not accept him?
Christians say if you believe in him you are saved.
So why don't people just believe in him?
Does it have to do with not feeling they need saving?

Or do Christians themselves turn them away?
Why don't you accept Jesus?
It seems siimple to believe in him.
Or is it too hard to believe in the stories told about him?

There must be 100 stories as to why not...I just tossed out a few possibles...

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I greatly believe in him, I just don't believe that it IS required to accept him into your heart unless you wish to suffer eternal damnation. I don't believe in hell. I believe that the only thing that awaits on the 'other side' is short vacation filled with pure light, love and radiance followed by further reincarnation. However, that doesn't mean I live an immoral life because of this; in fact it gives me endless determination to be a presence of Love and Light to whomever I meet.
Namaste.

Because for some the magic of the worlds has been forgotten so they cannot comprehend the full sheer measure of him. Yet when we truly believe in the magic of the worlds he no longer become necessary as we start to comprehend the full sheer measure of ourself. Though he can be a great inspiration... a mirror into the greatness of oneself.

I believe in JC. I believe that the stories told about him are largely true, I believe his speeches are more or less correctly recited, I believe that he is still around as either spirit as in body.

But that that alone means I am somehow saved from or for something, I don't particularly believe in. I think it is just a way of speech, a way to recruit people into christianity. Join now, or bad things shall happen to you. Join now, and there will be a reward at some point later. Just another, gentler version of 'destroy the infidel'.

Inurement.

Look around you in the world. Read the news. - Human Nature.
What do you mean you don't know what we need to be saved from?
"God is no respector of people."

We are all in the same boat, here.
You think you are better than anyone because you haven't committed some outward trauma, or violence?

You need a Revelation. The material world, and evolved, organic humanity is a changed and fallen situation from something else.
Namely the angelic.
Consider the parable of the, "Lost Sheep".

Get, "Real". There is hope for you yet... possibly.

It all depends on what you mean by believing in Jesus. You have to be specific because that could mean lots of things. I believe Jesus is a powerful image of our higher selves to be learned from and imitated in daily life.

I don't believe in things without evidence.
There are no records of the Nazarene ever existing except the gospels.
No Roman records, no writings from His time, absolutely nothing of objective evidence.
It seems obvious to me that He was a mental construct of similar dying/resurrecting god/men from past religions.

I would say I believe in the mythology of the Christ, in the Christ archetype, just not an actual entity that was the Abrahamic god made flesh.

Yes, I didnt want to be too specific...just let anyone say what they
want...usually it's an- 'I believe this , but not that.'
The "why's" of whichever is fascinating.

I know I believe in an entirely different angle as to who Jesus was or came
here to do, compared to what most of us were taught to believe, in Feb 2010...
I remember the moment.

Thank you, I appreciate your honesty.

This is not evidence and I'm not saying this to change you, it's just a curious story
for me personally..the famous NDE ... a self proclaimed angry, mean atheist dies...is being
beaten and poked in darkness when he begins to pray, doesn't even know
how to, but asks Jesus to help him. He sees a small dot of light, it gets bigger and
there appears a loving man that saves him. He weeps, has never felt such love;
is shown many things and sent back....he later realizes this was Jesus...becomes a minister.
That was astonishing to me...no background in Christianity.
If he had asked for Krishna, I suppose he may have appeared...or maybe his grandmother.
I dunno...fascinating aside.
