I use it only to keep in touch with my rl friends and follow certain pages. Not like I post a picture of myself every hour and nonsense like that.

I did use Facebook to keep up with my kids and cousins but I finally had enough of it. Facebook sells your data without your permission. And you can't delete your account, only disable it.

I use it to stay in touch with family and friends. I do not live close to anyone so it's the easiest way to stay connected.

This is incorrect, it took some doing to fully delete my account. |

I setup an account this year. I have been adamantly against social media in the past and still don’t trust the people who operate it to handle my data ethically. But it can be useful to reconnect with old friends who otherwise would be lost. A lot of people seem to use it as a platform for self marketing, which is a big turn off for me.
