Our inhale & exhale shall be through nostrils only, so that our prana in deep meditation, flow in Sushumna Nadi (Sushumna canal). breathe in and breathe out shall not be forced one but, slow, serene, pauseless and flow in tranquility. Thoughts arise in mind shall not pause our breathing.

Our eyes be closed very gently (softly) and our eyes focal shall be locked ahead forward in one line of horizon on one dot. Eyes are locked for success of meditation. If visual comes in closed eye focal, we have to ignore those visuals strictly. Our entire focal shall be locked on that dot in horizon.

Our mouth shall be closed (shut) gently and our tongue shall be locked to upper palate of mouth. This is to avoid much saliva filling in the mouth. If even though saliva filled in mouth, we shall gulp it.

Our minds entire concentration & attention shall be on breathe in & breathe out to the point where our breathing turn from upside to downward in breathe canal (in the center of our two ears).

If thoughts arise in mind and stuck meditation, don’t worry. Let that pass while our mind’s entire concentration & attention shall be on that breathing point suggested above. That breathing point brushes pineal chakra.

Look how birds rise & fly, here & there.
There is still stillness beneath their wings.
This still stillness is abode of meditator.
His breathe shall be pauseless, serene and flow in tranquility.

A good principle is to start from the most dense and proceed gradually to the most subtle. Just like in raja yoga, you start from asana, then pranayama, etc up to dhyana. This may be broken down in many more parts as practiced in some forms of tantra, taoist and western practices.

Yes brother Alex E. its all be started dense to subtle. Its Yam (ascetism), Niyam (self control), Asana (sitting posture), Pratyahar (senses control), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Dharma/ Dhamma (meditators dharma is meditation), Dhyana (Focus & attention) & Samadhi (deep state of meditation). These 8 steps are to be followed in meditation.
