Red Lights
Red Lights, I thought was a really cool movie, its message seems to be that we are in control, that affirmations are real. The main character says "You can't deny yourself forever." "We renounce having ever knowing ourselves." "It was me all a long." He's referring to a series of mysterious events. Another quote from the movie Simon Silver, a con artist says "How do we know that our instraments[referring to our ways of perceiving truth though the faculties of human existence] are accurately set, how do we know that we are reliable." "There's only one way of gaining access to the truth, that's by not expecting anything." He also says "If our intentions aren't pure we might end up creating monsters."
Really cool movie, let me know if you interpreted it differently or in some greater way.

Anistasia
Anastasia the cartoon movie has a really cool message to it. The story is about an orphan trying to find her family. Another way to view it is that its about the spiritual growth of a girl. The opening scene if of grandeur, its of something before birth, of God, heaven, and the devil. Rasputin can be seen as the devil, however you view the devil weather its an entity or an idea. The grandmother plays the role of God. There is a great conflict, heaven is divided, the grandmother and Anastasia run. Anastasia is separated, hits her head and gets amnesia. Amnesia can be seen as the Vail between life and "death". The use of color and their intensities directly correspond to the theme of the movie when viewed from a spiritual standpoint. A good example of this is when she leaves the orphanage and decides to take a chance, she's singing a song about finding her way home and at the end of the song her destination, the city, is drawn using only gold, the auric color for God. An other example is her scarf often changes colors, it turns purple when her connection to spirit is greater. Every part of the movie has a second meaning to it. At the end she defeats the devil though the realization that he didn't have any power over her.

Thank you for those, Dustin! My mind is blank, but...
The Matrix
The Fountain
Defending Your Life
Most things from Gene Roddenberry have far reaching
ideas of how this Universe works...haha, I think of The Holographic Universe, author?
I'll think of more.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Dustin,
I've seen many movies, but three come to mind that still speak to me:
Enemy Mine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enemy_Mine_(film) Click on Enemy Mine film? at the top of this page
Cloud Atlas
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_Atlas_(film) Click on Cloud Atlas film? at the top of this page
Mission to Mars

Each of these films advance my favorite theme: We are not alone. We are al-lone (All One).
Enjoy...

(and even when you don't)

Seems to be loads coming out lately. Lego Movie is one of the best I've seen. What I got from it was that most people are just going about living there lives thinking everything is amazing and doing what they are told but there are others who see the world differently and create thier own reality. It's about humanity learning that we are the masters of our own reality. I find a lot of animation movies are really clever now with their hidden messages. Megamind is also really good. Has themes in there such as good people are not always actually nice people and "bad" people are a result of the way others have treated them. Could see the hidden theme there with the way western countries treat the rest of the world; the west are often portrayed as the good guys and the countries they are at war with are "evil". There's also a great scene in the movie which portrays how time is subjective. And I like the way Megaman throws away all the fame and fortune to follow his highest passion even though he's not very talented at it.
