How to know you're not just imagining stuff?

Hey :)

So I have a question about telepathy, how do you know it's real and you're not just imagining it's happening?

I recently moved back to my old city with my mom.
My mom used to have a good friend there who was very spiritually developed and he could feel things like how people were feeling and energy/spirits that were around i guess.
(I am not sure if I have ever been told that, but I just know it.. maybe they just told me when I was only very young, maybe via telepathy?)

2 weeks back, I saw him again when walking outside. I directly felt this strange energy or vibe, I don't really know what it was.

That evening I was on my laptop, I suddenly felt something, asking for my attention. It was not something in the room like a spirit wanting to communicate. It felt familiar too.
So there was kind of a conversation, well not really like talking but more like me and the other side just understood each other, but it was very vague though.


I kinda feel like i've been imagining it, since i see no reason for him to want to contact me. but still..
What do you guys think?

That's the one and only line of the Tibetan Book of the Dead (English translation) that I actually understood. In essence, much of what we experience is just our imagination, but as imagination is not exclusively in one person's head, its often still real anyway.

Hi I had a lot of trouble believing in the other side. I received so much information at the start. I thought I was losing my mind or its just my imagination. Then everything they came true. There were so many dead correct predictions I finally accepted it. I am not crazy just psychic. They will prove themselves.

Doing telepathy is hard enough. Trusting in it is even harder.

As I see it, you need to have a core belief that you are essentially a spiritual being. That the purely human experience is the illusion. Once you can appreciate that reality you will be able to work with ego centric logical brain and integrate the greater reality into your physical reality.
