I use guided meditations too, or music.
I can't concentrate with all the noises around me from neighbours or traffic..

I like the way you tell it like it is !

We also have thin walls where I live, or more like thin ceilings, so I always listen to music-of a more spiritual path.
Yeah it's not fun trying to meditate when it sounds like your neighbours are actually inside the room you chose to meditate

I have two meditations I use. One is by Matt Khan and the other by Ester Hicks. They work well for me.

Sometimes I listen to traditional flute music while I meditate but I feel silence is the best practice. When playing music or a guided meditation, it may seem easier to concentrate, but you may end up focusing on the wrong things. It might lead one to wonder whether they are really meditating, or just listening to music.

In meditation I am listening for the start of hypnagogic state, so i don't want any distraction from that. It can turn lucid, and sometimes i do hear music, but it's nothing you could find on youtube.

Flute, wind chimes, Chinese zither, nature sounds from different environments with or without music, and sometimes guided, depending on the mood or intent.

I have gone to YouTube and looked up good meditation frequencies. 432hz is a really good one. There are all sorts of frequencies that you can listen to and pretty much all of the videos give a description of the frequency they are using. You should perhaps check it out sometime and see if it works for ya. There are some that even help to stimulate the pineal gland.
