I don't like spiritual people any more

Last night after a long time I went to a dance meditation group. Basically free-style dance with some instructions.
I don't know what happened but I felt I needed to laugh at the hypocrisy of these so called spiritual people (not the first time)
The dance meditation, the technique she was "teaching" was simply clubbing without alcohol. Dance and techno tracks played with the faciliator on the "mixer" like a DJ.
I understand the debiliating effects of alcohol what I don't understand that a lot of these people think they are better than others.
An average person who goes to "normal" clubs will get an amplified effect because the music is louder, there are more people around you and you'll get their happy energy too, the music will vibrate through your body. "Normal" people look for the connection and the letting go too they just found a different outlet.
(obviously not talking about the extremes!)

Same thing happens when I tell "spiritual" people that I listen heavy metal. 95 out of 100 will judge me immediately, some tells me I have to stop listening low vibrational music that's why I feel bad!!
It doesn't matter that heavy metal is played by actual musicians who are talented and skilled, the lyrics are normally like poems, yes, some of them are about destruction but that's part of life too. Death is part of life.
Also nobody!! at a metal gig will stay unhappy, people are more inclusive than everywhere else, they are more than happy to talk to you and everyone is smiling because they all accept the other person's quirks.

I used to go to group meditations and retreats but I find it more and more difficult, mainly because majority of the spiritual people are as narrow-minded as everyone else. But the bigger problem is when they think they are superior, "they are on the right path" and you are not.
I got to the point where I think everything you do in your life is good as long as you feel good about, it serves your life purpose and nobody has the right to tell you are doing it wrong. You don't have to do yoga asanas and become a vegan, if you eat meat, you are still a perfect human being. Etc

This is only a rant, everybody is free to think whatever they want, I just had to write about my experience last night because I feel like there is hardly anybody left I could talk too. For average people I am too hippy, for spiritual people I am not well developed yet (You'll get there love-so condescending!)

And the other aspect of my post is I just find it funny how my way of thinking is changing, how I am becoming more Me.

You are being very judgemental about everybody around you.these are traits coming from yourself, that you are projecting onto everybody else.
not everyone is the same I listen to varies types of music that doesn't make a difference to how I act to anybody else.
I am a spiritualist I am not false or anything else.i think you need to take a good look at your own opinions of different people.before you make judgement.

I've never met an actual spiritual person in 'real life' - this is the best place I've found for like-minded people.
I do find I cant help but judge on the meat eating - but that's because in my opinion, a life shouldn't end just to end up on someone's plate and it's something I feel passionate about. I certainly felt the right decision had been made for MY OWN spirituality when I gave it up & stopped being part of that cruel 'life' cycle.
I also listen to metal and find metallers are some of the nicest, most inclusive people, scene-wise.

I guess my point is, in my experience it's hard to find someone who is just like yourself, out in the real world, & you get to know your real self more because of it. :)

Although they tend to be rare, I actually did encounter a few spiritual people here who are somewhat into metal. Of course It is to be expected that the majority of people here, especially those who are quite radical when it comes to that whole vibration thing only listen to Enya and stuff like that. They are rather ignorant when it comes to metal and have no idea that even in the metal community there is such a thing as ''happy metal.'' For anyone who may be interested, check out Freedom Call and/or Galderia. The latter are all about peace, harmony and unity with the universe. But the chance is probably too big that most people aren't interested checking it out solely because it is labeled as metal and therefore they think their vibration catches fire or something like that, lol.

As someone who attended a lot of concerts, I can also confirm they are 99% of the time friendly and well-mannered people who socialise with anyone. And many of the bands themselves are very kind and care a big deal about their fans. But unfortunately from a radical New Age point of view none of those things are relevant. It is no different than organised religion that looks down on people who aren't part of their religion and don't live according to their lifestyle. But please keep in mind that I'm not generalizing everyone from the New Age community... I'm sure not everyone is like that because I actually met someone in real life who would qualify as a spiritual person but he liked the same bands as me.

If I were to go out and try to find someone is "just like myself" I'd be sorely disappointed. Such a person doesn't exist. Maybe that is part of your difficulty, too. Expecting someone to be "just like you" is asking a lot, and in a way passing judgment on those who aren't.

I have met some spiritualist people in person. Those I've met are an eclectic group. Some love classical music, others are into current pop/rock. I don't really think preference in music is any indicator of spirituality or lack of same. Most in the group I've met with eat meat and frankly feel that the whole vegan thing is weird. They're in the UK and see it as another strange American fad. They also were a mix of tea drinkers and those who enjoyed a pint or even a good stiff drink.

It sounds like that dance thing you went to simply wasn't appropriate for you... and possibly shouldn't have been labeled as "spiritual" but who am I to judge that?

When I say just like yourself I didn't mean a literal carbon copy I should have used better wording. In my case I've not met anyone who shares my values or even sees my point of view alot of the time. Including my partner and family. I am over-sensitive and an empath though so I do tend to be a bit much for most people.

You seem quick to jump to judgement too ... Also, too reactive.

Where's your unconditional love?

Forget what others preach to be right! Don't let anybody bully you into believing, thinking, doing anything!

There isn't such a thing as "spiritual = good". You've noticed it yourself.

Different people understand different things when they're using the same word, and "spiritual" is a hijacked word.

Always do only what you think is right! Pay attention to what the Universe / life / God / ... gives you in return on average. If that's good, then you're thinking right. If it isn't good, then you have to adjust your thinking.

You can have an opinion without being judgmental. And, you should have your own opinion on everything that matters to you!

Each one of us has their own perceptions that contribute to the creation of our individual realities. We can't access the objective reality, if that exists.

Also, people should be allowed to exercise their right to free speech, and even be wrong, without being labeled as judgmental, or being shut up by "spiritual" people.
