Question about meditation
Hello
I have been practicing candle meditation for about a year now (approximately 20 minutes per day). Problem is that while practicing I experience swelling inside my left nostril. If I stop meditating, then in a few weeks the swelling disappears and if I start practicing again, then in a few weeks the swelling occurs again.
Does anyone have idea why this happening and how to prevent it?
Hope You can help. I really enjoy meditating and would not want to give up on that.

Hello danii and welcome to the forum !
Any chance you could be allergic to the scent of the candle ? Maybe if you sat further back from the candle ? ( not knowing how close you are to the candle while meditating )
Am I correct in this candle meditation you are focusing on the flame of the candle and meditating or is it more involved ? I have done that and it is mesmerizing just watching the flame flicker and dance around and letting the mind wander.

Hello Adrienne
I shouldn't be allergic to candle scent. I have not had any kind allergic reactions before to anything and I am using just plain candle without any scent. I usually sit 1,5 to 2 meters away from the candle and focus on the flame and clear my thoughts, not thinking on anything. Afterwards I feel light pressure in my head and a good feeling overcomes me.

Ok, then that rules out being allergic to the candle. Any thoughts that it might be something else causing the swelling and not connected to your candle meditation ?
Nice to have a good feeling after the meditation

Unfortunately not, at first I thought it is due to slight crookedness of my nose. But wasn't it, had even celon procedure done to get the swelling down. Had also allergy tests done, which showed I had none. Only thing that seems to help is to take time out from meditating for while. I am guessing it could be due to the blood pressure rise in the head after meditation. But after reading different forums, never seen that anybody has had similar problem. So I am bit confused at the moment and don't know what to think of it.
