In short, No. If the work is repetitive and requires little concentration then one go into trance or daydreaming. If it does involve non-repetitive and creative action then one could possibly enter a flow-state.

All of them may be pleasant and produce their own results in some way but none is meditation because the outcome is something external of us while meditation is specifically focused on creating an internal result.

Disagree. Meditation is NOT about a goal/achievement/results/production/focus. Meditation is about being (self), it matters not what one is 'doing' (or not doing) during that time.

Hello

Maybe meditation is the wrong term for what we can do when working. We can 'step out' take that part of us that is the energy being and go for a break. Some call this Astral Travel or and Out of Body Experience. Most times this practice is done in a quiet and similar meditative state. It does not have to work that way, you can be busy working and too take a mental mind break.

Its the same break that a meditation would give you, but without having to sit in a calm and quiet space.

Mediation is not a 'break', it is a state of being.

IMO one CAN meditate in exactly the same way as one does when sitting. I do most tasks in a meditative state. The only limitation is that often complicated tasks require that more presence remain than is typical for sitting. Ok, so no Samadhi wile driving ...
