warmth in healing
If healing comes thru us, when we put our hands over a part of the body to be healed, aren't we supposed to feel a warm feeling in our hands ? if not, is the healing not coming thru ?

Hi dream angel i believe even if we do not feel heat in our hands when giving healing, or healing over a specific area, just because we don't feel it does not mean it is not working, just trust it is.
I hope this helps.
Love GA ;) xx

If you were attending a reiki practioner for a session then you could both feel different things. you may be feeling warmth from hands as they are placed on or above you. The practioner may feel the opposite and find it cold. Same with if you were self treating in that it could be hot or cold.
It makes no difference as to whether its "working" or not and will feel unique to each as we are individuals.

very interesting Ces, which leads me to another question ...
if healing comes thru us and not from us, how is it possible for just average people to be a conduit for this healing, without having Reiki training ? there must be a difference somewhere in this ?

Every person is different and they may experience different things when they do healing sessions. Some individuals may not feel anything at all, but are still able to do a great healing session. Some may feel tingles, warmth, cold, numbness. It all varies per person.
What one needs to do is go with their gut on what they are feeling or not feeling and work from there. I have heard of people feeling warmth when they are doing hands on, and feeling cold when they do distant healing, and vice versa.
When doing hands on and self healing one may feel warmth or coldness when they come across a block in their energy system. Could be coldness for a block and warmth for too much energy. It can vary for each other. While some things may be similar for some for others they may differ.
Always go with what feels right for you and do not expect anything to be a certain way. You will not be disappointed that way and will allow what works best for you to happen.

Energy follows thought! What matters is your intention. While performing (and receiving) healings, I sometimes feel different things : warmth, freshness, a magnetic feeling of attraction/repulsion, or even nothing at all. What matters is the intention. Which takes me to your second questions, a lot of people who are not introduced to Reiki (or other types of energy healing) do practice it from instinct. If I met a person like this I would strongly encourage them to get some training though, because you never know, they could do something wrong.
You don't need a gift to practise healing in my opinion, but proper and simple training, and willigness to practise it.

Hi Dream angel,
Reiki means "command the spirit" and is the name Dr usui gave to his particular process of transferring energy. You dont have to know how usui guided the energy to be able to command the spirit or guide the energy. You dont need any training and it can begin with a simple hug or thinking nice wishes for another person.
Physical sensations felt by the practitioner are thought to be due to friction created by the flow of energy exiting and entering the palms. The more flow to an effected area of the client the more heat you may feel depending on how sensitive you have become through training and observation vs the draw of energy needed to assist the healing in the particular area of the client.
Have fun
