I can't help but think that the "Burning bush" that Moses spoke of when seeing God on that Mountain was a primitive discription of the Light, a burning bush...

There are "donuts" or orbs or circles of light inside, for sure - in blue, gold, white -
quite beautiful - they can capture your attention ----and then something quite different can happen... the "Golden Bowl" - which is
the inside of your skull --- filled with a Light like a Sunrise - brighter than 10,000 suns.

I was quite shocked to see a perfect representation of this "donut" in "The Fountain" - a movie I highy recommend.
David Aronofsky -(Black Swan, fame)

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I love talking about this inner Light.

My head was filled w/ white light during a kundalini experience but it wasn't 10,000 suns worth. I was able to see into my head as well as several other directions at that moment.

A few days later my mind was filled w/ sky blue for a few moments. It was all I could see, nothing else. That felt wonderful!

My mind filled w/ golden light for a few moments a few nights ago after I heard a voice in my head say something like "turn on the light" but that wasn't even one sun's worth. My mind has filled w/ white light a few times but just for a split second. It has yet to persist for any period of time. And this has only been more recently and usually when I'm half asleep.

Yes, I've seen it - most profound experience of my life, and the start of my awakening. I saw this for months on end, everywhere I went, everyone I met. Everyone had it in them, but they controlled how much shined out.

But, it's not not what you are describing. Not orbs or donuts. Nothing like an aura. Instead, pure, white light emanating out of people, like rays or spokes, the more spokes, it dissolved them. The light had a ... texture...a feeling... to it. I knew it was the light of God, the God within. Love.

"Don't hide your light under a bushel"... made total sense.

Anyone know what I am speaking of --and not as a concept---a real light.

Now, it has become almost a survey for me - who knows about this and who doesn't...no judgment, of course - just
seeing how much this is or is not taught or spoken of.

Yes Miss Hepburn... I spontaneously experience non-physical light quite often, which has different expressions at different times. Sometimes it is soft and sometimes bright, sometimes it has the shape of a doughnut or an eye, sometimes moving like clouds move and sometimes scintillating.

At times I see it shining down and/or flowing down from a high point far above. Sunlight along with inner awareness can stimulate seeing this spiritual light but is not that light itself.

I also may see it either filling my whole body or at certain specific points in the head, heart or hara. There are times when I'm aware of my light body, which is not the etheric or astral bodies but apparently made of finer stuff.

Last year for several months in meditation I was regularly drawn into what I call light soma, seeing soft inner light along with a blissful intoxicating feeling.

"The light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world" ... and the worlds beyond.

Thanks for asking the question, Miss H, so folks may become more aware of their own light.

Xan

Greetings..

Well, actually.. there's more to it than you might imagine.. the human body actually produces photons (light) from within.. see reference:

Have you seen this in Silver Girl's signature?

The experience wasn't all that bodily when the light shone in. The heavy block thing was a physical sensation caused by some mental problems where aspects of me were considered unacceptable and I had secreted them away. That manifested the solid heavy blocked physical sensation.

The day the light shone in was different. I meditated and kinda lost the physical awareness experiencing myself as a space, It just shone from 'above' and went right through me. I could see it and I could feel energy vitality love... it's the holy light, no mistaking such a thing

I can confirm what some others here are saying from my perspective, eg. Xan and Gem.

Of course I've seen many kinds of light outside myself, but this is a light within that's being spoken of. After my initial kundalini awakening I became aware of this light, shining down from above as Xan mentioned. In meditation and also when I was going to sleep. Later on I realized I had always seen it as a youngster too, esp. when very happy and on the verge of sleep. The light 'means' goodness, all is well, understanding. When we feel all is not well we cut ourselves off from it.

Bringing the light down to 'mate with' other bodily energies is one of the alchemical ways of transformation -- yin and yang mating. However, as Gem was saying, when I began to do this consciously I became aware of how much of myself was armoured against the light penetrating deeply owing to mistaken conceptions of myself and life. The light gradually takes up more and more of a transformative abode in various places in the body, helping to transmute everything. Sometimes at the beginning I would spontaneously fast when that happened. This was a while back.

I was quite surprised that my teachers weren't always too specific about this light, but doing some research it appears that it is well known that kundalini can activate it. Greenwell in her excellent book Energies of Transformation mentions becoming 'open to an inwardly visible downward flow of light that stimulates the luminous inner force of transformation', as one of the possibilities of kundalini awakening. Some of those she interviewed had experienced it.
