An interesting question, and from you question I assume, you see the ascension process as a drawn out process, were I see and understand it as the final brake trough from one density to the next. Or to be more accurate from the third or fourth density to the fifth. Meaning, you are one moment here and the next in an other density. And this takes a few minutes.
Perhaps we need to ask, at what stage of our development are we ready for ascension?

A most interesting question to ponder.
I think if you were developed enough to ascend, you'd change your soul contract and drop what belongs in the old energy such as karma and reincarnation. Ascension means, to me, you have to raise your vibrations in order to align more with the higher dimensions. If you're not raising your energy then it's much harder to align your energy and progress. If you are raising your vibrations, then you're making progress and should feel the difference. This, of course, is an individual path but you're not alone on it as guides can help you with this process.

When about a hundred or so life times have passed.
I am not being sarcastic. The evolved races of beings in our galaxy took millions of years to reach their present state of awareness. Humanity is on a similar path.

In my view, it is when you don't just see yourself as the whole universe, but naturally feel at 'One' with it. Without any inhibitions, restrictions or reservations. Where you are no longer confined by a belief system but have complete acceptance for who you are - including everyone and everything around you.

For me the ascension process is waking up to who you are. Where I would suggest that with you being on this forum you have already started on your magical journey of self discovery. The beauty is to enjoy every moment with an open mind and an open heart as it is such a breathtaking experience.
