I think my student experienced OBE; changed after operation.
First and foremost, I like to say that I'm an English teacher.
I focus on basic English speaking skills; building confidence to speak..that sort of thing. (I'm in Asia so this is a highly demanded course)
I have this particular student, a girl, she is in kindergarden. She has recently went through a minor operation (getting her teeth fixed) and all of a sudden, the first words that she uttered after the anesthesia wore off was my name.
Ever since, she has been calling my name during random periods of time and this puzzles her parents. She would only listen to me and make it hard on her parents to control her and reason with her.
She starts hugging me saying she likes me and all that. A major change since pre-surgery.
So is it save to say she experienced an OBE and connected with my soul, or what? Because I feel that's what's happened and for some reason I care about the girl's condition.
What are your thoughts?

Did you comfort her prior to her operation? Maybe make her feel like there's nothing to be scared of and everything will be OK?
Do you know how her parents were with her prior to the operation? Did they offer her reassurance and comfort?
Maybe it was you who comforted her the most during a really scary thing. Maybe her parents weren't as comforting to the degree that you were and she really needed that. Maybe she is expressing deep gratitude for the comfort you provided when she needed it the most.
As far as an OBE goes, it could have been one, who knows. Maybe on a deep level this little girl deeply admires you on a level that she wasn't able to express until now.
I would assume if she had an OBE , she was likely comforted by things that reminded her of the comfort that you provided to her. Maybe this is why the bond is stronger now for her.
Its a sweet story...I'm happy she is OK.
There's nothing wrong with a student admiring a teacher. I've had two such teachers in my life as well and both of them were like mother figures for me. They reached out to me when I needed it the most. I have never forgotten them.

I didn't know she was having an operation until two days before the operation. By that time, she was already in another country to have the operation. So me being physically present is out of the equation. Her parents were there for the operation and they were worried something will happen. I reassured THEM (not the kid) that she'll be fine.
I did not predict that my student would be this close to me post-surgery. She has been saying my name everywhere and every time and this has generated the curiosity of her family and the people within my workplace.

I wouldnt say that is any indication that she's have an OBE.
Surgery can be traumatic for children and can cause children to act differently afterwards.
