Had a lucid dream (i think), any tips?

I finally had a lucid dream (i think)! it was on accident and I have been trying for a while now (figures!). I was in a dream state but I knew I was dreaming.

I heard ringing in my ears and felt vibrations as well. I repeatedly in my dream said "i want to communicate with my spirit guides." Unfortunately it didn't happen. All i could see was a shadow outline of my body, it was pretty dark in my dream like there were no lights on.

That is all I managed to do. This was a lucid dream and not astral projection, correct? And did I do something wrong because i was not able to really see or control anything? I want so badly to communicate with my spirit guides but i'm stuck :p

Thank you!

This by itself is the definition of ‘lucid dreaming’. So congratulations, you had one.

The outline of your body could indicate a part of the dream or that you actually exited into an OBE (astral travel or other out of body expereince). Without experience (in your case with neither lucid dreaming or OBE), it’s almost impossible to tell if you exited from the dream into astral travel.

Not seeing anything at all probably means you didn’t remember to open your (astral) eyes. As you did see a bit, it probably means that you need more energy. Keep in mind that while you are still in your room at night, its dark in there, that does not change because you got out of your body.

Controlling things in a lucid dream is an additional and advanced separate skill.

Even if you had gotten out of your body, you didn’t seem to be in that state for very long, I would not make much of not being able to manipulate things. Learning to move and interact while out of body is also an additional skill (also benefits from more energy).

For the most part I would not consider lucid dreaming a good way to meet guides. Astral travel can work but as you don’t know where to go is a hit or miss situation. I suggest looking into methods to ‘call’ guides or to look visions (Native American style).

Thank you for your reply. I forgot to mention that when I was lucid dreaming it was actually daytime.

I remember thinking "i'm lucid dreaming, I should try to come out of my body." I tried lifting my head and thats when I could kind of see things. But something made me think i was not having an OBE, it was a lucid dream. but I have no idea at this point :p

Saying "i'm lucid dreaming, I should try to come out of my body."

Is the same as someone trying to become one with nature.

It's impossible because you already are nature.

In the same way, all dreaming is spirit travel, even if you stay close to your physical body.

Imo.

Became mildly lucid for the first time in a while, have just spiritually recovered and the two go hand in hand for me.

Now I remember when I start becoming lucid I always drop everything that I am doing and go somewhere that I can become more conscious.

Like last night I was riding my bike along this path and then I became sort of lucid. As soon as I got off the bike I looked to my left and there was a path leading down to a river with a bunch of rocks in the middle. Before going down there was a sign that said "Park Here" where the rock was in the middle of the river. My mistake was that I brought my bike with me, when really I was suppose to go park myself...

There is always next time.

What I find helps is going for walks somewhat before bed and then go stand by a place I really like, by a river or a tree perhaps, and then pretend I am in a lucid dream and practice stabilizing for however long I feel. Then continue the walk and still work with my thought that I am in a lucid dream, helps for sure.
