If Being Dead is so Great, Why do People in Spirit Try so hard for Contact?

I guess the title says it all. I have read and researched the Afterlife extensively now for the last 4 years, mostly from an empirical viewpoint.

I have noticed just how much some who have left this physical world, will go to great lengths reach their loved ones. I knew a lady whose son made contact her through someone who had mediumistic abilities. This meeting was not sought by the mom, and the medium person, knew where to find her, (at a public restaurant), and randomly approached my friend. Said her son (in spirit) wanted to let her know he was okay...and other personal items. My friend had never seen this other person before or since.

Also, after researching much about OOBs and death appearing to be the ultimate OOB -- many times there seems to remain concern on those who went on ahead for those left behind. People in the non-physical world take those opportunities to make contact back....

Also, according to Victor Zammit, he states quite frequently that there are groups of "scientifically minded" individuals trying to establish solid communications between these two worlds. (Without all the mysticism.)

These are just my random thoughts after reading through much, experiencing much and just trying to figure out what is really going on between here and there.

Lynn, I know you have abilities, so if you see this post, I would appreciate any thoughts.

They seek contact to reassure, and to share the good news about survival.
Information which also helps us order our lives.

I've had spirit come through, sometimes to apologize to someone, at other times to reassure their loved ones that they are now healthy and well.

Sometimes they are concerned about a loved one and want to offer guidance or sympathy or just to reassure the living that they care.

It's like being on vacation in Hawaii, but worrying about your mom in Oklahoma. You'd want to reach out to your mom to reassure her and yourself.

There is still a lot of suffering on Earth. We still struggle with the concept of life, and we harm each other.

It is a belief, that perhaps in our current age, if we learned that death is not the end, we may calm down and become better people.

Spiritual development is our current goal, not money making, power or property.

When we're dead and go with something that we needed to do or to tell we contact the living to have some closure and move on, but essentially it's not required. Also when we see a dear beloved person too sad and devastated, we just want to comfort them.

When you move on, I believe you can pass to the next dimension or to re-incarnate on earth again according with your spirit urges.

So it's true the famous phrase: "do not pity the dead Harry. pity the living and above all those who live without love"

Most of the loved ones who have passed when they contact the living it is mostly to help them with their grieving and to assure them that they live on. Through them we know that there is a life after death. I have yet to hear of an instance where somebody who was passed on is yearning to come back to Earth because it is unbearable on the other side. Yes, there are some who remain too attached to the worldly things and can crossover but for those who cross over they seem happy to be on the other side. These are just my thoughts.

I work closely with the other side and the big message that they want to get through is that love survives and is the most important thing that connects us.

I don't know that being dead is so great. I have no evidence to support the belief that we retain our individuality after death. Our human consciousness is dismantled and we aren't the same as we are in human form.

I don't know how it works, but there is a transformation that takes place and we will never be the same us as we are in this life.
