Empath vs Telepath

I'm just coming into my awareness of having some empathic abilities, but I seem to have a gift for telepathy as well. What is the difference between picking up on someone's thoughts AND feelings, and being a Telepath? Thanks!

My last entry about conversations(2) provides some insight about this. This is not about empathy vs telepathy but the integration of these and other psychic considerations.

In my view we are all gifted with these skills however very few of us become conscious of them.

Thank you, John. I'm gathering as much knowledge as possible, as it's helping me to understand what fits and what doesn't. I definitely have moments of very clear clairvoyance and clairsentience and I pick up very easily on others' emotions. The ongoing, telepathic conversations are with spirit guides and my twin flame, but I pick up on thoughts from others all the time. I battled myself for many years, because I was stigmatized for simply having these abilities and sharing what I picked up on.

Yes Saragh, knowing what to share and how to present it is an art form all in itself. I use the higher self of others as outlined in part 3 for that. It's interesting I wrote a topic about this a few months ago. I read a book on spiritual awakening and the author said that picking up someone's emotions is the best form of telepathy one can have because the communication is direct and to the point. When I do a healing on someone I know that if I pick up on their emotions it is always correct. Where as when i get a message from a guide i can misinterpret it. Some people do argue that picking up emotions is not telepathy. However I do think it's all about reading energy.
