Spiritlite.

i know this is off topic, but i too have always had problems losing weight. i'm 43 now, but i started working out last year and lost 20 lbs (not much because i didn't change my eating habits) but i'm leaner than when i weighed this weight b4 @ 163 lbs. i used to walk a lot years ago, but i got very little results. i stopped working out for many years and sat a lot in front of the computer. finally i started do the 5 tibetan rites, which helped give me some strength and ENERGY (have chronic fatigue and pain). then after several months of daily rites, i started lifting small weights (gradually going up to 10 lbs) 4-5 times / week. i used joyce vedral's books, 'weight training made easy?' and 'definition'. now, after past a year, i'm finally ready to tackle body weight exercises, so i've started some hindu pushups, hindu squats, and bought a bodyweight book called 'you are you own gym'. i only do 6 exercises, 3 sets, 10-20 reps for now and i do them slowly and take breaks (heart/circulation issues). i started w/ 3x/wk, but i'm down to 2x/wk for now. i need to give my body a long rest and it's working nicely for me if i listen to myself. i find that strength training really helped me shape up, gain strength, boost my confidence. for the past few months i finally started monitoring my food intake and the types of food i eat. so i suggest, w/ your favorite cardio, find a favorite strength training exercises and work it at least 2x/wk (must always take a day off in btwn) and switch when you're bored. stretch a lot too b4 and after. i switch from the small weights because i felt stiff. now i'm looking for more functional strength. good luck and enjoy.
