I would like to invite you to share what it means, to you, to be Christian.

What are the truths in the messages of Christ?
How do you practice your faith?
and
What does it mean, to you, to be Christian?
How do your feel Christianity relates to other faiths practiced in the world today?

I will not be using this thread as a means to post my thoughts on the matter as I feel in this case it would be poor practice to both inquire and suggest an answer.

I do however ask that we refrain from using this thread as a podium to preach or label one another "Good" and "Bad" Christians.

To believe in Christ - however you understand, whether it be Jesus Christ, or the Spirit of Christ. There are different ways to interpret "Christ" - & I'm learning a whole new perspective of Jesus & Christ (Christ is not Jesus' last name, but a term applied to him, & others) - not so much as Savior, but as someone who shows the way to peace & happiness. I consider believing in the Spirit of Christ - to be in touch with the light/love within... & that this goodness is within us all, no matter what religion.

What are the truths in the messages of Christ?

The ones that come to mind:
*The 2 greatest commandments (of which hang all of the laws & the prophets): Love God with all of your might mind & strength & love thy neighbor as thyself.
*Don't go looking externally for salvation... the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17)

How do you practice your faith?

I go to church each week & am involved in my church (despite differing beliefs) & so I have a lot of opportunities to serve & love others. It has also been trying, as I teach & try to stay true to my beliefs while respecting the church's beliefs. (I keep it simple) I try to love my family first, as priority. I'm also learning to study, pray & meditate more deeply.

How do your feel Christianity relates to other faiths practiced in the world today?

The essence of Christianity is the same essence of most other faiths... LOVE & learning... Just called by different names.
