I didn't realize the question could be such a deep question. I guess that 1 question can be taken many different ways. Over the years i strayed from my "roots", "where i came from",or where "my journey began", whatever you want to call it. but feel i grew in a positive way. Every day is an experience i grow from.

But this is the answer to the question, exactly. We have experiences. And we grow from them. Evolution requires we learn and grow, and our experiences are the way we do that, simple as that.

Where do I come from? Evolving Spirit.

We came from spirit and we are going back to spirit. We consist of Body, Mind and Spirit/Soul and we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.

That's like saying nothing is real and therefore there's nothing we have to concern ourselves with.

I would hesitate to use the words 'cosmic mind'. Simply because they define something with boundaries. However this imagination I speak of is the background of all realities. It, (imagination) has managed to bring about a state of existence we call life. For this end we have created atoms/waves to form a physical picture. It has also formed those abstracts we call morals/ethics, goodness/badness, we have a conscience, we have responsibilities, we have developed rules and regulations, laws, rights, wrongs, love, hate, passions and habits and have created opposites to give it all a balance. This we have done because each one of us knows that we are individual thought forms in this ethereal world. As the centuries (imagined) have passed we have developed and used those experiences we have again and again formed and reformed to set us up in this moment.

We exist in a similar way as do music notes. We live in our octave, one of many which ascend and descend, and sometimes our music plays.

Is it not enough to simply exist?

So there we have the conundrum of life.

I did once, here, start a new thread 'why am I not an elephant'. It didn't get off to a good start so I left it. But it's exactly this question that we all need to ask ourselves.

Everything we see in the surrounding world has its place in a heirachy. It's safe to say that positions are drawn according to abilities. The best team, the best man, the fastest woman and so on - these are typical of our world. The loveliest flowers need the earth that's best for them. Evolution attempts and tries again and again to improve itself.

To all purposes we can/could say that mankind is the best there is on this planet. You can qualify this statement as you wish - nevertheless it appears to be true.

So, what have you and I done to have achieved this prime position in nature? When did we do it? How is it that when I sit on top of a mountain or under a tree in the woods that I see there is only one thing that matters in this world - the reflection of myself. (I avoided saying just 'me' although it would be true).

Why am I not a fly or an elephant. I'm not talking about genetics here - and I know that my parents were humans. So why out of nothing am I here. Did I, did you 'jump the gun?'

And this? :http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2...begins-when-s/

I think the question arises for all at some point . Who Am I, where did I come from? Was I always here, there, wherever?

It's likely we know the answers to all those type of questions, even the one's like, why am I not an elephant .

Perhaps remembering is key .

Where we come from isn't as important as where we're going to.

I could say that I came from cosmic stardust 10 billion years ago with the big bang...or I came from Spirit or 'God made me' or I came from a 'past life' and all would be true, but what's the point of thinking about it?

Why aren't I an elephant or an ant? because I'm not an elephant or an ant and if I were, I wouldn't know I was an elephant or an ant.

Perhaps your going back to where you came from ..
