Bach Flower Remedies

Yonks ago I took Bach Flower Remedies and it worked really well.
But it's not something that's on my mind a lot. You never really read about it either, that might be why it's not the first thing that comes to mind when something is up.

Problem now was my 2 female cats, a cypress and a calico.
The first very well-socialised, the latter not. On top of that Roosje -the calico- has the fire of a calico, so things didn't really work too well between the 2.
Not that they were fighting a lot, but it became clearer and clearer that they both have stress but especially Nila, the cypress.
Roosje doesn't let up hassling / pestering her, even though Roosje is a real sweetheart (not for Nila though!).

It's been a year like that, and since I'm going to get a 3rd kitten next months, I was hoping things would improve and I could let Nila & Roosje sleep downstairs instead of taking Roosje to a room upstairs at night.
But that didn't work out well. In the mornings I'd find Nila hidden on a box behind the settee.
Not the way to go, clearly it was more stressful.

Then suddenly out of the blue I thought of Bach Flower remedies!
I Googled and found a few people that make custom blends, AFTER you order & pay, based on a few questions.
Both charged E30 (30USD) for that service. I wasn't convinced and kept searching.
Then I found another one, free in depth advice based on solid background info provided by me. Solid as in 2,5 typed pages!! But... she appreciated that as it gave her a very clear picture of what was going on and what remedies were needed.
And... she only asked E11 for the blend of 7 Bach remedies!! Almost 1/3 of what the others ask based on much better info.
All that without paying, payment is after getting the Bach Flower remedy!

I got it in a few days ago, began using it in the cats' food and drinking water right away!
Within a day it seemed that Roosje has become more laid-back in general. She is still hassling Nila, but she seems to be more at peace, something seems to be changing!

Yesterday I saw Nila lash out in a way I've rarely seen her do.
But then I thought, don't interfere, let it play out. If they both are changing due to calming down, less stress, then of course they will need to find a new balance in day to day life as well. And that could go with some turbulence. Change always is chaotic.

Just now I was making their wet food in the kitchen, both cats present.
Normally there's some hassling going on between them during that moment, but not today?
Roosje didn't even eat her food in one go? That's new! She tends to wolf everything down, half an hour later comes for more (which she doesn't get), then she tries to scoff Nila's food.
I always felt she was a stress-eater. Now she didn't finish it?

I'm beginning to think this IS going to work! Not there yet, but things seem to be changing and it's only been 3 days!!
Fingers crossed!!

Good thread....Flower Essences work like crazy...and on animals, of course, (just supporting you).
I've known this since the early 90s ---witnessed amazing
changes with my own eyes.

I love bach remedies. I have a situation with our newest cat. She's a feisty cat who reacts to the dog with hissing and growling and swatting. My daughter has been working with her and the dog by giving tube treats to the cat while the dog sits near. It's helping some. We were giving her Rescue Remedy for a month but I would love the website of the person you worked with. Maybe we just don't have the right combo.

Rescue is just a general remedy. If it doesn't do what you need you best get a blend that's based on your pets' behaviour and needs.

The woman I got mine from is Dutch. My advice is to just Google search to find someone like I did.

I found this one, I do think he's Dutch, but his website is in English and he ships worldwide:

I had been using lavender spray on the supposed stray that encamped on my step as it had kittens and was getting quite vicious, I have a bad allergy to cats so didn't like the idea of taking any in, the kittens would be walking soon and I live high up so had put boards round to stop them falling over the stairwell but the landlord was not happy and the chipping law came in so a small local cat charity is trying to rehome them.I worry now that they may not be able to rehome, wouldn't be fair to ask for the mother or any kittens back and keep them in a space I rarely go in or spend time in, the mother seemed happy enough in the stairwell but don't think they would like leaving her or the more mature kittens there.

I've been using the Bach mix since I first posted about it. Went through 2 bottles, yesterday I ordered another one.
I gave her a detailed report of the current situation because my kitten Meggie is living with us now and I figured she might want to change the mix.
She did indeed.
Her advise now is to use it for all 3 but when I still got some left, stop using it for the cat(s) that are doing fine to see how it goes without.
If there's a relapse I should order another bottle.

The Bach mix has brought a world of change among my cats!
The tension that was always there, the youngest chasing after the oldest (3 yrs), etc. have almost completely disappeared.
Even when kitten Meggie arrived there wasn't a relapse between them in spite of both having stress because of it.

Now she's replacing 2 or 3 Bachs in the mix with others, based on my story of how it's going.
It should arrive tomorrow or day after.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Bach for your cats, certainly if you can find someone who can create a good mix based on your situation.
