I didn't know this but last year Ouija boards were one of the top 5 toys sold for Christmas season.

No word on them this year.

I guess everyone learned their lesson...

Ouija boards are classed as toys but they are not,they can be dangerous in the wrong hands I have had to do house clearances from people using them
smudge sticks have also been selling well due to people using Ouija boards so I was told.because they have been trying to clear negative energies.

One major player in that is media which also makes a focus of negative or "scary" experiences. In some cases people can be very easily trained.

I agree with you. If you want a Ouija session to turn out well you need to have good intentions. However lots of people go in and do a session thinking something bad will happen, and it does. Ouija boards can be very useful, but only when they are in the right hands.

I don't understand why people bought this as a Christmas gift. As a joke gift probably, but why it became popular, I will never understand.
