The Old Bodhisattva
The old bodhisattva sighed
and winked an eye
His gentle hand
stoked the fire
He poured the tea
and stayed
in command of the world
around him
How could he not ?
He was the world around
him.
Later that night
The moon
behind the cloud
re-appeared
The silver light
fell across his sleeping
face at the other end of
the cave
Across some prayers
and across some books
The silver light was
unwavering for what seemed
like a long time
until a large cloud
made its way
in the night sky
bringing gradual darkness
for a time.
