My question is, now I can post and create topic but I would love to update my profile wit detail and avatar but that part is still locked to me. Any idea why?

Hi Ruby :) I'm in Canada too!! From Saskatchewan.
I'm new too and am limited in what I can do too. In your welcome message it says:
Upon signing up to the forum you are able to post threads, and reply to the threads. However, newbie users do not have the ability to edit their profile, add an avatar, or have a signature. After being a member for 14 days, and making 25 posts you will have access to all the normal functions of the forum. To know if you are a newbie user it will say so underneath your user name.
