"A double bind is an emotionally distressing dilemma in communication in which an individual (or group) receives two or more conflicting messages, in which one message negates the other. This creates a situation in which a successful response to one message results in a failed response to the other (and vice versa), so that the person will be automatically wrong regardless of response. The double bind occurs when the person cannot confront the inherent dilemma, and therefore cannot resolve it or opt out of the situation. For example, if your employer tells you to do a job but doesn't allow enough time for you to do it and you are in danger of losing your job if you question the situation you are in a double bind."

"Double binds are often utilized as a form of control without open coercion the use of confusion makes them difficult to respond to or resist."

So, just follow your conscience.

Indicators of many contrary things, this is why we need to use reason (in the mind) to sort the information.

But because we accept that caring for the sick is good.

However, you believe that good and evil are equal?
An example of the struggle between the mind and the body can be found in hospitals.
The doctors (with their minds) fight the illnesses of the body, and death.

But the reasoning of the doctors is imperfect.
And sometimes the doctors win, sometimes illness and death win,

But we believe that it is good that doctors try to subdue the body to defeat illness and death.
Even when it seems that the they can not be defeated.

A double bind can make it seem that good = evil,
And without accepting good over evil, you are defenseless against the secret coercion of a double bind.

Since good over evil avoids contradictions such as good = evil.
Following your conscious involves using reason (being logical).
And logic is objective (not subjective) by definition.

...as long as it is reasonable.
For example, I apply the Catholic Church's logic regarding euthanasia.

I'm actually familiar with facing this and other double binds.
What seems to have worked for me was:

1. Follow your conscience.
2. Become forgetful of possible consequent loses (detachment), such as the job.
3. Trusting in God (goodness itself).

This double bind challenges you to ask yourself,
"How much good is good to you? Is it more valuable than a job?"
(I believe that goodness is no less than goodness itself.)

I see the way to overcome a double bind,
Involves starting where we are at (from following physical goods),
And goes to following goodness itself.

you can get healthier or you can get brighter from the inside out
and as you decide how to become a better person, imagine how good expanding those good feelings will feel now
