Affirmations for anxiety ?
Hi, has anyone got some affirmations they use to quash anxiety or to keep it at bay.
I am struggling horribly with always catastrophizing things in my mind.
I am aware that my thought patterns are irrational and that I'm overthinking everything and its all in my own brain, but I still feel fearful, feel tightness in the chest and am holding back tears due to my panicky and irrational thoughts.
I seem to find it harder than others to stay calm and chilled.
If anyone has any good affirmations i can use i would appreciate it very much.
Thanks for your time.

I do not have any affirmations but there are meditations that one can use for axienty that will keep you grounded. You can check from Youtube and take the one that resonates with you.

I have suffered with anxiety for years and nothing came close to helping until I read "The Mindful Way Through Anxiety". It takes you through examples of other people's situations along with questions for the reader to answer at the end of each chapter. Once one starts answering the questions, daily affirmations can come from them as well as tools for combating anxiety in a variety of situations. It helps with General Anxiety Disorder and the constant panicky and irrational thoughts you spoke of in your opening post. Hope this helps.

Hello
Its not really an affirmation more a tool that I have used for years and taught over the years to others.
Three Breathes
You take three deep breathes in holding them and slowly letting them out.
First deep breathe in, hold it and slowly letting it out.
Feeling that your realising what is around you.
Second deep breathe in, hold it and slowly letting it out.
Here you are bringing in energy of calming the body and mind.
Third deep breathe in, hold it and slowly letting it out.
Your asking for clarity on how to move forwards calmer.
Lynn

Laughter is still the best medicine.
Watch funny videos, movies, read jokes, find funny apps...
Really, that helped me and sometimes I share some funny stories and jokes to my family that makes us laugh the whole day and even the whole week and joke around it, some funny stories lingers and when you remember, it will always makes you laugh just to put aside your worries.
Hakuna matata is what I always say. No kidding.
Sometimes being too serious and giving it too much attention makes us think of so many things that we should not be thinking about and worrying about.

I remember an affirmation I used to chant while jogging in the morning was "I'm calm, serene, and focused on my dream". It has a rhythm so it suits running or walking.

Hi Tully!
Affirmations are great to help you overcome any obstacle such as anxiety. Also grounding yourself can help and be quite beneficial too.
As for affirmations here are a few that may help! =)
1. I am safe and secure
2. I am calm and relaxed
3. I am happy and feeling amazing
For grounding I find just standing on the grass barefoot helps me so much. If you are feeling a bit of anxiety, try this out. Stand or sit barefoot on the grass for 15 to 20 minutes and you'll feel a big difference. Also black tourmaline healing crystal is wonderful for grounding you too.
Perhaps try some hot tea such as Chamomile or even Passionflower? Teas can be beneficial as well.
I hope this helps and hope you're having a beautiful day.
Much Love
