It is good to have it checked out medically if there's a question about the sounds you hear... although there are generally other accompanying physical symptoms such as deafness or nerve damage, etc. rather than just hearing non-external sounds.

I had a click in my ears onces, and it ended up being caused by bones in my neck. I noticed I could bring it on by moving my head in a particular way.

Hi Xan! I read your article and only skimmed through the rest of the thread. That is very interesting indeed! But um, what's that sound for anyway? I mean if it does serve some kind of purpose... Not that it needs one I suppose...

This question is like "What's the creation for?" 
The sounds are primordial energies of existence and, along with light and love, are the basis of all forms... including us.
In my practice, as I listen to them my consciousness and energies have been subtly and gradually transformed and awakened.

I have found the exact tone i get in my ear, its on a web site called
In 2 Worlds.net
Its not tinnitus, i only got this sound maybe once or twice a month. I dont listen to loud music and my hearing is fine. I also heard that it was a warning of an earth quake!LOL! I don`t get this sound when meditating.

Yes... The sounds generally begin by showing up spontaneously. One can find a subtly different way of listening if they want to hear them by choice, as they are always here.
