Funny I should see this today. I just dropped a card in the mail to him in which I wrote, "Just the thought of you puts a smile on my face."
And 3 1/2 years ago we were sitting having one of our long conversations and I started laughing and he said he wished he had a recording of that sound.
So, yes, the laughter is one of the most pleasant aspects of this connection.

Yes to both questions
When he was away for a couple of weeks at the beginning of the year, we were having scheduling issues and couldn't pin down a time to talk and catch up properly. I was feeling a bit neglected until he sent me an email saying what he missed most, was the way we laughed with each other.
It's true - we giggle like children at our own jokes, or we belly-laugh at our ridiculous memories. We often laugh at the thought of 'outsiders' listening in to our bizarre conversations, we think they'd think we're insane
I've never laughed with anyone else, the way I do with him.
