Memorial to my friend Diana

It's hard to believe that my friend Diana who was like a second mother to me died on July 12, 2012.

I first met Diana back in 2000. We were co-workers. She was a very interesting woman who had led an interesting life. Sadly she had cancer but was misdiagnosed. This is a long story, so I will not go into it. I will focus on the positive.

She made people laugh at her humor and her stories. Many co-workers that I work for are new or came in after she had died. They really would have loved to have worked with her.

She helped me out when I broke my wrist in 2011. I helped her out in the spring of 2012 when she found out she had cancer. The day she found out she had cancer was a day after my mother's birthday. (My mother died in 1998).

About a month and couple of weeks before she died I remember being in her room and talking about an article both of us had read in People magazine. We were laughing and it was like she wasn't sick. It was like before she was sick.

Another funny story that I have is that I'm a NASCAR fan and I was attending the practice at one of the race tracks (I was on vacation). Diana wasn't a fan and would roll her eyes. I called her as the cars were coming down the track. I imagine she was rolling her eyes and said something to the effect of "Yea, you had to do that, didn't you."

So I dedicate this to my my friend and second Mom, Diana.

Thank you Tobi. Since tomorrow is the 2nd anniversary of her passing, I will be thinking about her and praying for her.
