Not quite answering your question but here's my personal opinion on changing reality.

We all can change reality because we already create our own reality. So yes, reality is fine the way it is because it's slightly different for everybody according to their belief system and attitude. You can't have a feeling about anything unless you have a belief about it, so you could say everything is neutral until you attach a belief about how it 'should' be to it. Only then is there any need for change.

If you change your beliefs from the ones given to you without your agreement (our upbringing) to higher vibrational beliefs, then the world seems to change - your reality changes. This is easy to see on a small scale. For example, you are in a new town and you think that everyone is friendly and particularly nice. Almost certainly, you will continue to meet friendly nice people. Another person visits the same town and thinks that the people are unfriendly, stupid and aggressive. They will continue to meet unfriendly people - their reality is quite different from yours.

On a larger scale, it is possible to change realities very dramatically. It's hard to accept but everybody creates their own reality all the time. Nothing can come into your life unless you have a vibrational match to it, nothing can be in your life unless you agree to it at some level.

From a higher perspective, you actually can't change anything. What happens is that your efforts of trying to make a change give you a 'permission slip' to shift to a parallel universe where that thing already exists. That's why it is said that everything is perfect and exactly the way it should be (and it is in THIS universe) - your choice is to match your belief system to the best possible universe; not to change this one!

'Change' is a concept in time. It will happen 'in the future' but in higher dimensions there is only the 'now' and so it is said that the illusion of time comes from constantly shifting from universe to universe where things are slightly different (changed). The bottom line is that we already change reality, already move to other universes but do so unconsciously. Bring it into consciousness and it becomes easy to change reality to whatever we choose.

Of course, this has limitations imposed by the limitations of what we really believe is possible but that's only a theoretical restraint.

It's an interesting point that this explains why happiness or joy is your purpose in life. By creating a desire to change your reality, which is actively pursuing your joy, and add the the expansion of the universe by experience more and more. If you just go round in circles repeating the same 'mistakes' you are not pursuing happiness and contributing less to the expansion of the universe (or God, or whatever) through experiencing more and more from different viewpoints.
