I don't use deep heat,i use Aloa Heat Lotion.it is the best thing I have used it smells like Germoline used to. its about£14 for a tube but it lasts for a long while you only need the smallest amount, I would recommend that to anyone

I use deep heat sometimes for aches in my lower back and it helps a lot especially in the winter, and like you say jo, before going to bed. But the effect doesn't last very long.
I think it has some aspirin-like thing in it "salicylic acid" or similar.

I had never heard of Aloe Heat Lotion, Native spirit. I might try to get some to try. I usually need it in the winter, or when I have been doing too much work (bending and chopping wood.)

Hi Jo, I use Zandu balm or white Tiger Balm. It has more of a peppermint smell due to the menthol. I use it on my knees and for tennis elbow...and then I wrap it up in cling wrap.
