Are pendulums a crutch? How can we get too dependent on them?

I've been using a pendulum lately and feel like some people think they are a crutch or that there is the concern we'll get too dependent on them. But what does that mean exactly? A crutch in the sense that we ask them about every single thing or decision? Or a crutch in that somehow we aren't "real" psychics if we use them versus using our intuition? But then psychics use tarot or other cards for readings, wouldn't those be considered a "crutch"? Or is the concern that sometimes pendulums can be wrong or give us answers we are thinking of? But if we say a prayer and set an intention to be given 100% accurate information from our higher self and guides, shouldn't we be ok?

I've been using a pendulum as part of a course I'm doing on accessing information from the Akashic records. Sometimes I intuit the answer before the pendulum shows me what it is. But other times I just get the answer from the pendulum.

I would say in general you can get too dependent on objects and activities like reading the tarot. If someone is reading the tarot every few days in order for it to provide answers I don't think it is particularly helpful and it can become more of a block than a method of insight!

If you use a more balanced approach then something like a pendulum can be useful.

I think crutch depends on one's own personality type as to whether regular usage of divination methods could be considered a crutch or not.

Ultimately the object is just a tool to receive higher Guidance form the Higher Self. Ultimately we may hear this as a very clear voice within and need no physical items at all, or we may develop a chakra language with Higher Self where when we ask a question and certain chakra activates and knowing what that chakra is related to gives us our answer.

Or maybe we use a large combination of ways both internal or external. I don't think Spirit cares too much about HOW we communicate with Spirit - it's whether we do or not that is of concern!
It's not said 'Ask in this certain way and only this often - and Ye shall receive'.
It's "Ask and Ye Shall receive". No qualifiers were added - the brain is the only one trying to add them, make rules, make judgments and so on.

The egoaic mind like to judge things, this is right, this is wrong, this is too much - this is not enough.... and so on.
So ask yourself who is using a pendulum hurting?
If you can't come up with anyone and only see internal guidance and help coming from it then don't listen to your mind which is forever going to second guess everything anyways because it wants to be the sole aspect which makes decisions and is responsible for everything - because that's its nature.
