Relearning Gospel Words

[Perspective]

I still attend church & repeatedly hear gospel doctrine & sometimes, it bothers me because I believe differently now. Yet I realized, if I just remember my own definitions of their words, not only does preaching not bother me, but it can actually be spiritually inspiring!

So... I wanted to list some words that have gained new meaning to me (mostly from others who I appreciate!)...

Spiritual Terms
alone = all one
atone = at one
evil = elusive veil
God = GOoD
Holy = Whole
ignorance = ignor-ance
inspire = in spire - upward to higher self (spire/steeple)
responsibility = response-ability


Gospel Word Meanings (to me)
Atonement: Harmonize so that ego & higher self are "at one"
Celestial: Christ/Divine Consciousness
Commandments: Scripture/learned guidance & spiritual/intuitive guidance
Covenants with God: Covenants/promises with LOVE
Cross/Lamb: Our & others sacrifices for spiritual progress
God: Love
Gospel: "Good news" - new perspectives of truth
"He lives": Love lives & spiritual help is always available!
Jesus: Guide to Christ Consciousness
Kingdom of God/Heaven: Spiritual connection within, Realm of God is within us
Laugh: Inner Jogging
Love: Desiring & striving for what's best eternally (in life-through trial & error)
Repent: Correct one's thinking
Salvation: Healed by correcting one's thinking - toward Christ-Consciousness
Satan/Adversary: Unhealed parts of us; incorrect thinking that ultimately causes pain
Savior/Redeemer: Those that help us (especially spiritually)
Sin/Evil: Incorrect thinking
Temple: our body, mind & soul... or... a place to connect spiritually

Here's a list also from what has became apparent, words that too share a new meaning. (mostly from others).

"at-one-ment"= (a counterfeit of atonement) self realization, god-realization, enlightenement, or attune-ment (being "tuned in" to the cosmic consciousness).

"born again"= (counterfeit biblical conversion) whether we believe or meditate.

"World consciousness"= (counterfeit kingdom led by Satan himself) the progressive unification.

"Medium"= channeler.

"Demon"= spirit guide.

"Psychic self"= training one's self to ignore the messages from the mind.

"Cosmic consciousness"= bypassed the mind.

"Spiritual reality"= deny moral issues or deny authority.

Isn't that a new list of words? What page are you on?
You remind me of going to sing/play hymns at an elderly home & my husband sang the lyrics to a different hymn than I was playing on piano.

Prosopone (I had to look that up) is "the embodiment of any one of the Trinity."
Seriously- you believe I am that? Wow, I never imagined you thought so highly of me!

That is not what I think but from what was gathered around about this forums. The irony of your story is that, another definition of prosopon is, "in front of the face." Originally it was the mask of an actor. Much as persona was the mouthpiece that the sound of the actor had projected their voice.

Although, I define satan/demons differently (see below)...
& I previously defined & currently define the rest of the words differently from how you defined them.

1= How I was taught to define it religiously
2= How I define it now

Atonement:
1. Through the human sacrifice/scapegoat of Jesus, I can get to God
2. The "worldly" distorted part of me is harmonized/at-one with the kingdom of God within

"Born again":
1. People who are in love or infatuation with a religion
2. The parable of Christ's birth - our heart goes through labor pains, but births new life/perspective

"Demon":
1. Satan, Adversary, the Devil or an evil being who works for him
2. The unhealed part of us that thinks evil/distorted thoughts & resonates with the same

"Psychic":
1. Delusional lady with a bandana over her head, rubbing a crystal ball
2. Jesus (who knew peoples' thoughts); anyone who is spiritually & socially in tune

"Cosmic consciousness":
1. God/Heavenly Father - A Grandpa-like man up in the sky with an unexplorable ability to create the universe & beyond.
2. 95% of universe consists of dark energy or dark matter... which is only known by its influence, like LOVE

"Spiritual reality":
1. Somebody (Jesus) could save me from all of my thoughts, feelings & actions.
2. I am responsible for my thoughts, feelings & actions... but there is spiritual help - from those in body & spirit.
