I don't believe it..... Really ??

Sometimes we say "I don't believe it" to unexpected good news or bad news, or even surprise.

However, i think our surprise should be met with "i do believe it", because anything is possible in the universe. An infinite universe with infinite possibilities. I don't believe it is a very limited perspective of what is possible.

Unfortunately most people's minds are so closed that they don't believe what doesn't fit with their experience or what they think the world works like. You're absolutely correct in that anything is possible. I wish people would just take this quote into mind: "If something cannot be proved, and it then can neither be disproved, it is therefore indeed possible."

I get your point, I think. But, it's obviously an exaggeration ...

Hello DoctorStange,

I get that not being open to possibilities can be a limited view upon life.
To think what we would not have if those who took the leap into the unknown didn't bother to explore or figure it out.
Such things as this computer was once unknown, yet here it is.

In another way some may hold onto his/her belief because it is known. Anything that may challenge it may be blown off or not understood. So, it may be easier or more comfortable to "not believe it" , especial if it may disrupt ones comfort or call for change.

Agree, the universe holds great potentials. I have had it show me things through others, messages in dreams, and nature itself. These usually brought attention to aspects with in myself to pay attention to and at times called for change and showed connections.

At times was open, at other times was not in a place to fully take the action needed. So, in a way blocked it through my own insecurities and/or willingness.

Now there are some things that make me go "Say what?" and to me sound a little far fetched. This is just how I may understand it. May not resonate with me.

Well, got a little lengthy here, but find what you present interesting. Can agree to be open to what the Universe may reveal. For who knows where it can lead?

Human beings are creatures of habit and they build their comfort zones which they defend with everything. In order to function properly every day we need these two things. Otherwise we will live our lives wondering when are going to die, when will the metor fall on us, when is the tsunami coming, when will my partner leave me, etc. To avoid this, every unusual phenemenon is blocked and our minds shut it out and that is normal behaviour.

Can you really blame them? Usually everything that seems too good to be true turns out to be the opposite way, and I learned this the hard way all my life.

There are undiscovered truths that are deemed to be impossible but just waiting for us to discover.

Like our mind, there is more than meets the eye. There is so much to explore, that sometimes overwhelms us of the possibilities.

Everyone is capable of doing great things if we have conquered our fears and have the courage and will power to do it.

Whether "I don't believe it" or "I do believe it", wouldn't it be better to say "how did you come to know this?"?
