Within Buddhism I am and experience Rigpa, Yidam deity and what void and form means not from an intellectual standpoint but from daily being. A few pages back I talked about Rigpa and emptiness from my experience moving from mindfulness, to emptiness, to no thoughts and then residing in Rigpa. Anything more would just be ego.
I think you are a very smart man Vince. How much more could you be open to if such a thing is real?
Understand if you are not sure.

Thanks Tom, the feeling is mutual. :)
I am absolutely open to the possibility of such a thing being real. I actually don't think there is much different between what you've described and what occurs during the Theravada meditation practices that I experience, although perhaps the interpretation of the experience may be different, or worded differently in the very least.
As far as shaktipat, I know what it is but have never experienced it.
But I tend to be weary of elaborate esoteric descriptions of such things, as I believe that sometimes things may be a bit more simple and less magical than what they are believed to be by certain groups or traditions.
