The Tower

I was pulling three cards in the AM, just as 'what about my day'.

Using Universal Waite I pulled The Tower and two minors. I have never had The Tower show up before and I had some kind of an idea that it was spiritual or some big surprising news coming.

It was all mechanical and a mess, washing machine broke with water every where, computer on the blink, all suddenly without warning, but this wasn't what I was expecting from this card.

What is your take on The Tower, I do understand that the question and the surrounding cards affect the meaning.

What were the two minors? I would say that's an accurate card to describe your washing machine breaking and water going everywhere lol The Tower is about unexpected events.

after the crash, look at what remains. it has survived trial by fire; make sure you recognize it's value. integrate it.

Awakened Queen, I guess I just never thought about it being as mechanical unexpected events LOL!!!! The many ways to interpret the cards is amazing!

Revmac, after the 'crash' what remained was a pile of soggy towels and still wet area rugs. You are placing the meaning in the exact terms as I was trying to before and that is not what happened. There was no trial by fire, there was no need to recognize it's value (it's broken equipment) and no way to integrate it! Except, as far as a value it is expensive.

LOL!!!! Now they do and I'm on my way to take the sheets to a public laundromat.

Another big pain is the water had detergent and bleach mixed when it over flowed. Reminded me of a Stephen King story, at least it was colorfast bleach!! The machines are revolting against the abusive human!

The Tower to me is kind of like when you tell a child to go down a particular path, but hold back and give him the opportunity to do it by himself. But he is distracted and strays. You call out to him and remind him to get back onto the path, but instead he strays even further... until finally he is so off-track with no hope of returning that you go on down there, pick him up (and make him drop all the cool stuff he'd found along the way and was clinging onto) and plop him back where you wanted him to go

It's usually a big change of sorts that is "unexpected" but signs are usually there in advance. Were there any red flags you ignored? Had the machine been rumbling/leaking slightly beforehand? Were you behind on maintenance/regular checks etc?

I hate the tower card. It's the most scariest card in the whole deck for me.
When I get that card my heart drops. I feel like, "oh damn. something dumb is going to happen.." And usually, without fail it HAPPENS.
