The importance of keeping the commandments

Among the main precepts in the spiritual practices are the Five Commandments and the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are commandments for the attainment of Liberation and Enlightenment. The Five Commandments are the commandments for reincarnation in the World of Heaven.
The Five Commandments are basically related to actions, and in the Ten Commandments, three more commandments for speech and three for consciousness are added. Commandments relating to actions are related to the World of Phenomena, the commandments for speech are related to the Astral World, and the commandments for consciousness are to the Causal World. If due to the Five Commandments to exercise proper control of actions, conditions will be created for reincarnation in the future life in Heaven, relating to this World of Phenomena. Thanks to the Ten Commandments, the body, speech and thoughts will be cleansed, and the person who practices them will be able to attain Liberation.

Important Ten Commandments
So, let's take the Ten Commandments and examine them one by one, comparing each with the corresponding evil deed.
• Murder
What is murder?
The commandment "do not kill" includes killing and injuring living beings. And this is not limited to people only - you can not kill any living beings, even small insects. In addition, in recent years, abortion has become a common thing. No doubt abortion is murder, and killing a child with whom you have the deepest karmic connection becomes a very big bad karma ...
The work of the soul that underlies
Nowadays, there are many means for killing, and everyone commits murders as something self-evident, calling it "the extermination of harmful insects." From the point of view of people this is considered a good thing, but from the point of view of insects it is extremely unreasonable. Called by people "pests", insects were not born to be killed, life was given to them just like people. No one wants to be killed. Everyone wants to live a long time and does not want to die. We indifferently force others to experience suffering, which they themselves would not like to experience for anything.
For the murder there is such a pollution of the soul as indifference to other people's sufferings, when you make a distinction between yourself and others and cruelly treat the weak for your own benefit. When we kill sentient beings, our soul does not become warmer, it becomes cold.
The result is returned in the form of pain
Murder not only increases vicious feelings and makes the soul unstable, but also really returns to us in the form of pain. When we commit murder, then, naturally, we are hated, and the vibrations of the pain and suffering brought by others are absorbed by ourselves. And then come back in the form of pain. And the continuation of these sufferings will be the World of Hell. If we were driven by anger, it would be Hot Hell, if callousness is Cold Hell, and if we caused pain to the object - Hell of Pain. And the suffering and pain that we experience in Hell is nothing but the suffering and pain caused by ourselves.
When you kill or harm other beings, what kind of work does the soul experience in this?
Do you want to protect yourself? And maybe you do not care what happens to others because of your fault? Or do you want all living beings, all people, to become happy?
As in the proverb "the fisherman of the fisherman sees from afar", the soul of those who kill, or those who view other creatures as inanimate objects, attract people with the same qualities. Will this make them happy or unhappy?
Therefore, the command "not to kill" is not only intended to preserve the lives of beings around us. It exists also to make those who observe this commandment happy. This practice will also give you kindness - kindness, which brings other peace in the true sense.

Adultery (unrighteous acts in passion)
The third commandment - "Do not commit adultery" - differs among laymen and monks.
First of all, the commandment associated with sexual desire, for the lay people: "do not have sex without love and not sleep with a stranger husband or wife."
Perhaps sex without love or sex, after which there are remorse, and brings pleasure, but in the shower at the same time there is no joy, it creates devastation. If you enter into sexual relations only for the sake of pleasure, then in such a relationship between a man and a woman, most likely, there will be bitterness.
On the other hand, when you are sleeping with a stranger or a wife, you inflict heavy damage on the work of the soul arising in conjugal relationships, attachment and the desire for one-person possession, so, naturally, these sufferings will return to you. If people who have married do not have sexual relations with anyone other than their husband or wife, they will not have to have remorse at heart, the soul will always be in a stable state and, naturally, the relationship between the spouses will be harmonious.
In modern people there is information that during stress, energy is better spent; they cherish the illusion that, freed from stress, they will gain a sense of relief, in reality, by spending sexual energy, they expend merit, deplete the physical body and weaken the will.
If in the World of Men to absorb sexual data and under the influence of these data enter into a relationship - if you strengthen this trend, then in the next life, coming out of the genitals, will reincarnate in the World of Animals. In the World of Animals, under the influence of energy changes during estrus, the animal does not care who to have sex with, this is a world where everyone is looking for males or females and mating.
If you want to achieve Liberation, then it is extremely important to preserve the integrity of sexual energy. The same applies to believing laymen who think about Liberation. Thanks to the practice of not adultery, you become energetic and able to lead an active life.
Perhaps we can say that the practice of monks who are not fixed on sexual desire, compared with the practice of the laity, is a life led by sages. Since if we do not waste energy in vain and if it really spreads throughout the body, we will find the highest bliss of the process "Joy - Pleasure - Silence - Lightness - Samadhi".

Nitiananda-Seeing as there are different versions, it may be an idea to start with the version of the ten you accept, eg I think the murder one is also interpreted as 'Killing' so could apply to animals and plants too.

(I think the above if 'not killing' is accepted instead of 'not murdering' is qualified later in the Bible, in that these can be carried out for God or for survival I think)

God never enjoys the killing of living beings. Can parents rejoice that their children will be killed?
Donations of the lives of living beings are used to condone demons. But not Gods.
It's a devilish stream.

Umm this is a Buddhist thread.. The Buddha never gave COMMANDMENTS.. He gave advice and suggestions.. If you want to talk about God and his commandments do it in the Christian Thread.

Spiritual kind nice giving people are in tune with their true selves so have an essence of morality and also have a sense of right and wrong. So they don't really need to be told to be nice. But then others need religious rules as they still operate from ego and selfishness. Then societies and cultures make laws so people have a reason to behave and be kind.

Our true selves are kind and nice, compassionate, unselfish. It's the true nature of consciousness. But since we are so identified with this animal body and it's drives, rules and laws are needed to at least put some boundaries on animal behaviors.

What did Jesus give the people to eat at the feeding of the five thousand?

Fish of course. Or are fish not living beings?

That's a good point. There's really a lot of philosophical questions about that topic.

If killing is always wrong, why are so many living things designed to kill to live? Lions, wolves, eagles, whales, and on and on? Even some plants will kill other plants. I saw a show on how some species of ivy will cover a tree and kill it. Some poisonous plants kill animals. Then why is this whole system based on death? We are all killed by various diseases and the body wearing out. God will kill every living thing. No living thing on earth lives forever.

The creator or creators of all of this could have easily made a system of life and biology where nothing is killed or dies I would assume.
