Still feel awake?

Hello all,

Everytime I'm meditating or trying to AP .. I always feel that my body is still awake and that any second I can open my eyes or move my arms, do you know what I mean? Is it that my body isn't fully asleep or am I not concentrating enough on my mind. Someone please help me .. thank you! (:

Your body is not who you truly are, awake or asleep.

Yes... I do know what you mean. It was very much my experience when I began. I think trying harder to concentrate is not the answer. It's sort of like telling yourself you won't think about something and then that's all you think about.

I didn't have good results with AP until I tried to AP during a dreaming episode (someone's suggestion here at SP). I realized I was dreaming and was at a place 20 miles from my hometown. I decided to try to fly... and I did! The experience was so amazing and powerful. I thought once I had figured out how to AP I'd be able to do it anytime... but that wasn't the case.

Meditation became so easy when I did a breathing exercise called "Breathing Through the Bones". It only takes a few minutes and works really fast for me.

I also learned I could get to meditation quickly by clearing my chakras.

These are the things that worked for me... they may not be the answer for you. I'd suggest trying new methods along with what you are doing. You may hit on something that works really well for you. I also think that everything you try aids in your spiritual growth.

I didn't realize how far I had come until I read your post. Keep practicing. You'll see results!

William Buhlman, a master ap'er, coined the phrase "Body asleep, Mind awake".

In this state you will feel fully awake and separate from your body. If you keep checking on whether the body is awake or asleep it will keep you there in it. Just turn your attention to where you want to go out-of-body.
