spiders

Just about every day for the past few weeks I've been seeing spiders. As I type this, a big spider is busy spinning a web outside of my house in a corner by a window. I watched it for awhile and now I wonder if there's any spiritual significance for spiders.

What are your thoughts on this?

Here's a pic I took of it.

Spiders are so beautiful -- I love them! I am glad you seem to respect them and do not hurt them. I enjoyed the photo of your spider. I jokingly call my own home, " The Spider Hotel." They get to live here rent and hassle-free, but must mind their own 'meals' and build their own 'spaces.' ;-)

It would seem Spider Spirit is visiting you. As for what she could be telling you, it could be any number of things so I am 'cheating' and am looking into my animal spirit guides book for you, but ultimately you have to decide what Spider Spirit may be telling you.

You could be guided to access your deepest wisdom and put it to use in your day-to-day existence.

You could be feeling stuck in life, or could be experiencing an impasse and so need to make changes to move beyond all that.

Be cautious of any traps that may be approaching in the future.

Be inventive, creative and daring in weaving the life you want (that is from me -- not the book since the spider, in Greek myth, connects to the goddess Arachne, 'The Great Weaver'. What is it you want to weave?)

Follow your own intuition and allow Nature to inspire you rather than being bound by habit or a sense of conformity.

Go beyond the everyday world and explore other dimensions and realities.

Also, perhaps Spider Spirit is your totem animal. Some -- or one -- remains with us for life. Others can come and go throughout our lives to teach us things crucial to our soul and our path at times.

Do you tend to either stay still or move quite fast and nothing in between?

Can any anger you might feel sting others quite a bit?

Do you feel yourself to be in touch with a powerful, creative force of a feminine nature?

Have you a talent for writing -- for putting words together in a beautiful, well-crafted way which inspires others?

Those four things may be hints that the spider is your totem creature.

That's all I got (for now). ;-)

Thank you for your insight, much appreciated.

I looked for the spider again this morning and it wasn't there. Even the web is gone. I know the cats had nothing to do with it as they were inside and the spider and web were still there.

I do think there's a message for me involving spiders but so far nothing has clicked or resonated with me. I'm going to take a look at your list again and see what pops up or resonates with me. In an African myth, it mentions a story involving Spider Woman which I might have to find again and reread.

I have much to consider and thanks again!

I love spiders, i personally find them to be amazing creatures, well, the ones that don't bite anyways..

In many Tarot decks, a spider will represent the eight of pentacles, it's the 'worker' card. They are symbolic to hard work. They are able to manifest and build from scratch; they are innovators! A lesson from the spider, they don't rush through their process/work, they are all about dedication, attention to detail, and job well done..

This web page is one my favorite animal totem resource sights, maybe you'll read something that resonates
Cheers,

Cheers,

Hi Clover and thanks for the link.

I find it interesting what tarot says about spiders. I've always considered ants and honeybees to be the ones who worked the hardest as they store food and work as a community. Seems that spider is a solitary worker, something else for me to consider.

Thank you for the insight.

The spider made another web in the same location but didn't stay in the web. The following morning the web is gone. Now I'm wondering if certain spiders take apart their webs. Thankfully, a neighbour studies bugs and likes spiders.

Yea i think they are cool too, ones that don't bite lol i agree with what Clover said, i was also going to mention something else about them but the link Clover put up already says it, i remember there was a time when i was also seeing or noticing the spiders more then normal, it was a time when i was doing a real lot of creative work, they would walk across my work also when i slacked off i found some huntsmans inside the house... which i put outside in the garden so the cat didn't play with them an hurt them.... or eat them lol.

Thanks for sharing and glad to know I'm not the only one who catches and releases spiders. It's kinda cute that they showed up during a creative work.

Wow Volaju. I learned more about spiders from your post than anywhere else.

I did see the spider build her web and was interesting to see how she did it. I thought spiders made the straight strands first and then the 'circular' strands last. What really happened was that she took turns with both. I think she made the circular part to turn around to spin a straight line. It sure didn't take her long to make it.
