I'd say the spectrum of humanity is far broader than what many think they know of and can tolerate. And the spectrum of soul "flavours" that humanity overlaps largely with other similar life forms.
In the end...as long as I am not dinner...I say share the road peacefully.
In the end, love and acceptance is at the core of finding our paths, whomever or whatever we may be.
I think there is either a recognition & acceptance of that, or a parting.
They say (mystically speaking) ultimately that is how (or why) black holes and new dimensions form ;)

I agree with Enya about dementia. My mother has vascular dementia and she makes weird noises and faces all the time. She talks to herself and says things out of the blue. She is a wonderful actress, too. She can upset about something and start ranting, and in the next breath she will be herself. The anger you felt might have been your surprise and fear.
