Who Could Ask For Anything More
Me features are old, even weathered,
I’ve a body that’s not what it’s been;
me skin is not soft - it’s all wrinkled:
like worn boots that could do with a clean.
Me hair isn’t long, black and curly,
and the eyeballs don’t focus too well;
I’ve a nose that can no longer sniff right:
when it finds something smashing to smell.
Me lips, which were warm, soft and tender,
giving kisses that broke maidens’ hearts;
are now used for sucking on wine gums:
iced lollies and soft apple tarts.
Broad shoulders and strong arms have wilted,
and the chest - now devoid of black hair;
looks more like the back of a busted commode:
that has lost all its glamour and flair.
The firm knees that I used to court on,
have turned into strange knobbly lumps;
and calves that allowed me to chase the birds:
have alas - thinned to funny thin stumps.
Strong feet that at one time kicked footballs,
the length of a pitch - and some more;
now groan at the thought of being put down:
side by side on the living room floor.
But despite all the problems I’m having,
with bits - that aren’t always on call;
I can’t help but smile when considering:
I’m lucky to be here at all.

Ohhh - a website... Don't know about going that far... Wrote a book once, but couldn't get it published... Bit too avant-garde for that time of that era me'thinks...
Maybe in another lifetime... Hopefully, I've still a few in hand...
