I have an amount of financial advice on tap from me dad. We talked about cryptos recently when I decide to take a punt. He did years ago when one or two clients expressed an interest. At the prices of the time it seemed harmless though you needed a paper "wallet" at the time. When I started (hardware wallet) he sent me 1 bitcoin.

His view is use the currency to buy and sell things, keep for investment (comes with a risk) but don't day-trade - no spread-betting because it's truly volatile. I've kept a twice-daily record since Aug 29 and high to low has differed by about 30% against sterling. There's no rhyme nor reason to its behaviour on the daily charts. Sometimes it's high in the morning, other times in the evening. Perhaps in time it'll form a pattern.

But it does put the bank in your hands. Once you're in crypto, if your transactions stay in it, exchange rate doesn't seem relevant.

Well, huhh, can I assume you mean the reference to me. (Aside from that the post seems a bit of a tirade against those unwilling to take the plunge.)

I share only my entousiasm. And a "brag"? dude... just f of. Same goes to all other distrusting people. Cryptospace is for fearless people right now. So i understand the judgement and assumptions. Because thats the easiest to stay in own little world yet remain so spiritual haha. Joke. Same as Lorelynn blocking me without having the courtesy of simply saying "no tx" Its ooh so diffucult right? I guess there is a reason i hate people in general.

I don't know what me blocking him is about. If he means on this forum, I've done no such thing. I don't block anyone.

Besides I wasn't sure what he was offering - it sounded like trading but wasn't an outright proposition. I seem to recall he made a direct proposition to another member. What happened from that wasn't my business.

So...I really don't know otherwise....!

And....?

My own view is that's it's a little late. The only danger is that one crypto takes over popularity from another causing it to crash. Bitcoin isn't some local thing. It's now world wide with (probably) billions invested, or being used (billions at the current exchange rates with toilet-paper fiat.)

No one knows exactly who has the coins. As it's a worldwide currency it can be moved anywhere anonymously. Your holding is your private bank.

It hasn't exactly exploded in popularity but an increasing number of users are seeing its benefits. You control your coins, not the banks with their ponzi schemes.

i didnt propose to others. I messaged u one more time but i was blocked so...
the thing was that site was down, therefor i wanted to cancel my foundings of the site since people though they would take money and run, but it was the opposite were others abused a bug which placed much more in their account then they officially had. Anyway so far im happy with the platform. Havent got any bad feeling about it. Never had either. Once ive my initial capital back im banking. :)

But anyway,

Whether bitcoin stay or not. It is the door to the new world. Its not gonna crash its gonna explode. And thats gonna be sooner then later. Crypto is internet 2.0

When it comes to investing Initial coin offerings (ICO) can be interesting. Currently i invested in quite a few of them. Like Powerledger. Viberate ( over) Cartaxi. Once these hit the market the price usually goes up immediatly. So u can either hold some and sell some to breakeven and still have a bag.

I have invested a little in Bitcoin a week ago. So far I lost a little bit but as the long term, and this morning also short term trend seems to be up I am confident. The popularity of cryptocurrencies is not surprising. How much interest does your saving bank account pay? 0.01 percent. Great. And if I would have kept my bank account in my native country it would be -1% plus monthly bank charges.
The banks clearly do not want your money, so where can it go?
And it should be safe from haircuts and other shenigans the governments and bankers think up nowadays.

I intend to use it like some people do use money at the casino. Limit your potential losses, make a big win, draw the money over and above the initial amount and put it somewhere safe.

Yes. I had a splash at the end of August which dipped a bit at the end of last week (against sterling) but has well recovered. Point is, dad bought some years ago and the gain on that is staggering! When I bought my Trezor he sent me 1 bitcoin.

Bitcoin has the historical trend to allways go up. Though the recent spike asks for some correction. Though that seem to b allready happened. $4400 today.

Btc is gonna "hardfork" soon. There will be a "bitcoin gold" ofspring. So.. u will get bitcoin gold for the ammount of bitcoin u hold. U must have it in a wallet were u manage ur own private key. IOW dont have it on an exchange/coinbase etc. That will be free money. I blieve its 25 october.
