Do You Believe You Have A Physical Body In The Afterlife Or Are You Just Energy??

I'd like to canvas opinions on this, some of the books I've read say that you don't have a body but are recognisable to your relatives by thought. Others say that yes you are formless but you can take any form if so desired but after a while you won't bother with that.

Others are adamant, that you have a physical body albeit without flaws, fixed at your prime of life. Some say that you can alter that at will if so please. Do you instantly appear in that body or do you have to will it into taking form. Does it really carry on where it left off here? Who decides the age you will be, do you?

I find it hard to grasp exactly how your life force/spirit/whatever condenses into a physical body. How is it determined what age that you will be?
Let's say you have a body, does that mean it has internal organs, cells etc as in this life? How does the spirit carry the map of the body over anyway??

If you are energy based, how do you see and hear? If you are energy based but take a form, are you just projecting an illusion; there is no real anything under the appearance, no working organs?

What about Ghosts, to themselves are they physical? Just appearing see through to us?

What about clothing? If we are physical in an afterlife do we have to acquire clothing? Or do we create it with thought? Especially if we actually create our bodies with thoughts?

Big questions, enough for one day methinks!

Well, gee, if I am still thinking that I am a human (thinking like
a human instead of spirit)...yes,
I will look like a human.

You are formed spirit, recognisable to friends and loved ones, though usually adopting your appearance as you were in your earthly prime.

Physical but to someone else here, it would seem to be energy.

Parallel Universes

The likelihood of transferring your energies to a parallel universe is getting real day by day.

Every energy is physical to some degree. A chair is just energy, as is the car or a mountain, or the water of the ocean. The energy of a spirit is just in a different state then a physical body.

What I have experienced about this has shown me we do have an "actual" body after our physical passing. Now I don't know it all so have to guess that this body is only operable on Astral levels, and that there are finer layers of Being beyond Astral which don't need a body of this type.

Now strange though this may sound, (sounds a little bit too good to be true but which I have experienced for sure!) that body appears not to bear signs of the last illness. But I would guess that might be based on how emotionally attached the one who has crossed over is to their physical ailments. Also, concerning the apparent 'age' of that body, it might depend on how someone lets go of their concept of themselves as 'aged' and 'infirm'.
Some can drop it all straight away. I have seen that. But it also might depend on how deeply ingrained identification with the last illness became...(?) I don't know for sure. For some it might take longer.

Also (slightly different than passing over, I know, but thought I'd mention this) -during out of body experience I noticed that my right hand, which was partially paralysed at the time, suddenly worked beautifully and perfectly. Although it would be unfair to make a massive leap of logic and assume that exactly the same would happen after physical 'death' -and to everyone -it did show me first-hand that the 'body' there is not necessarily subject to any ailments which the physical has.

But I also think that sometimes when a person in spirit comes to a Medium, and needs to identify themselves to a family member, they are able to convey some signs of the last illness, or other infirmities for purposes of identification. That doesn't always mean they are still suffering.

So is the body actually real even if made of a different matter? Or just an illusion? If it's real how did it form and how is it maintained if there is no need for food etc. Is there blood in the veins etc? Also do you breathe assuming a real body or if not a real body do you have the sensation of respiration?

I have real trouble over imagining a physical afterlife in the real sense. I can imagine our disembodied consciousness for example might create its own version of the afterlife but it wouldn't be 'real'. But I don't see how a soul or spirit leaves the body with no physical form then arrives at a place and suddenly materialises fully formed into a version of us. who decides on that version? How does the spirit form a body upon arrival??

Everything in this reality is "real" as long you are within this reality.
You only can see the illusion if you outside of this reality.
Energy behaves according to the design of the reality, and yes there is a design to it.
If we look at the astral realm, where most seam to connect to and get some information from, behaves of cause according to it's design. Once we get there, once a spirit gets there, I never go there myself, the astral body is the outer layer of his or her energy structure and for anyone there it feel reasonably solid. Of cause the whole reality has a totally different set up, it behaves differently, how spirits/entities create, change their environment. One can replicate this environment here, but it is never the same.
Grass does not grow, food can not bee eaten. A house can be changed in an instant. It does not have to be constructed like here. And so on.
From there one can enter several realities for learning, replaying one's own events or historic events, or future events. One can test out our next life. Different scenarios.

We don't form the physical body we attach to a physical body. The physical body is part of the planet and it's consciousness. It has it's own intent and purpose. Alining that with our own can be very problematic.
