My GOSH! what good posts!

Tom is one smart cookie to ask this here, I see!
All you guys are so great!

I would like a drop more info...like what have you done so far, Tom?
As in, why did you ask this in the Buddhist Section?
If you are strictly of that persuasion...I would not offer much...
However, if Nirvana is surrendering to the heart!!!
Which I have never heard....
I'm doing really well!!
hahahahaha!

So, I could offer tons! And have meditated for hours and hours
and hours and hours and hours and hours in a sitting for 40 years.
I do not practice Buddhism...but respect it to a great degree.

But, if a person has read one book and all of a sudden has
this idea they want to reach Nirvana...
it would be helpful in the approach/response to know that.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I was listening to a spiritual teacher video today and he went on for 3 hours trying to tell people how to escape the false self, ego, thought, and it was mind numbing, in a bad sense... all of that talking and thinking and explaining... how to live thoughtless without words....

Seems like all of those people listening to him.... they were all trying to think themselves free of thought....to figure it out mentally, and he, of course, was thinking how to explain not thinking...

That thought, live non-verbally. can really sometimes cut through the non-sense and point better than 3 hours of lecture.

I'm not sure about the not talking. Masters can talk and stay in the free mental state I assume. But I don't know. I'm new at this stuff. Sometimes I am thoughtless and free and other times I am not. I would say some kinds of talking end though. If you are really dedicated to that state of awareness, what you talk about and how you talk changes.

The thing about being silent is not about living in silence, but about not needing to prove or explain yourself to others. When you live and speak from the heart your actions and words become clear, they come from a state of complete freedom, this is Anahata Nirvana in the tantric path I follow. I think it also relates very well to Buddhist philosophy.

I'm personally entirely opposed to disillusion. I prefer for myself to become deified, to ascend and continue to Xeper until the very end of the cosmos. Thelema has a strong focus on disillusion, and a very complex, large system for reaching that goal. There's also things like Christian mysticism, Gnosticism, pretty much any Osirian religion can aide with disillusion.

I'd think long and hard though. Investigate the other side of the coin, the power of the mind, the epistemological nature of the Self, things of that nature. There isn't exactly any turning around past a certain point.

Cool. Sounds like your know what you want.

I can only say Buddhism in a path but how you walk through is depending on/by yourself. You can always running fast through and slowly and steady pass the path or even do somethings more meaningful to your life.

Are you maybe instead seeking Samadhi?
Yes, I want Samadhi, I want to experience ego death, I want to merge my mind and spirit with the collective consciousness of the Universe BEFORE I die, how do I come about this? Thank you

Search for it as if searching for diamonds and gold.

This forum is a good place for support.

And in case your life and path becomes unique and measuring with others is not an option any longer, remember there are more than only one way to Rome.

Good luck on your yourney.
