Yes! Stop thinking, start acting on it! :) Learn, join meetup.com groups, look for people like yourself that you can learn with or even from. Start somewhere. If it's Wicca or Buddhism or Astral projection, etc. Find what resonates and start to figure out what it is you like and therefore set your own beliefs in motion. :)

What I get from your post it seems to be that your desire for the higher existence have increased your level of expectations from the world and yourself. The people that always seek that higher power usually get through such moments alot. The level of expecations in you is in high level and therefore suffering arrive from the dissatisfaction that your expectations divulge.

What I'm gonna give you as suggestions is that just adjust your expecations. Try to think why you're looking for that higher existence and which of your needs are keep pushing you in that manner.
