Wudang Tai Chi

I found a interesting DVD that teaches Wudang tai chi. I am going to use it. Does anyone have more information on what it means to do Wudang tai chi or has anyone done it before?

not personally, no. personally id go for chen or yang style tai chi (as i know them well but others could be as good) and would definitely look to joining a group. i think dvds can be good with tai chi but you need instruction too and so its best that that instruction is not too far from where you live. i feel i can vouch for the world tai ji boxing association (the inceptor trained at the base of wudang mountain if that means anything, i don't know). this is him teaching the first 3rd of the yang cheng fu form. the best teaching vid ive come across for understanding what they're on about. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5DD6B2748EC7DB8E

i see its called wu-dang to acknowledge heritage (just been on wicki). wu dang tai chi sounds ok. i see they are not fooled by "empty force"...the idea of being able to move, disable or knockout folk from a distance without touching, so thats a plus point. they're big on self defense too, which is all well and good, but id stick purely to the health benefits.

doesn't sound like a bad choice though. good luck with it either way, powerfull stuff.

I have practiced Wudang Tai Chi some years ago form a Master called Le Wong here in Melbourne. There is a monastery on the Wudang mountain, and all the Tai chi forms come from there. He teaches 4 basic forms and a sword form related to each of those 4 forms, and various other forms.
