Yes you can do it. sit in half dark evening type light in most relaxed condition. Close your eyes gently and in happy mood.
Start visualising ride on clouds. don't force then to chose visualisation of your mind. let cloud float you to places itself not thought by you.
Same now visualise you are on beech or hill station your favourite one. then let the visualisation take you the time pass which is unforced.
Now third, swirl your self and fly in the air without any choice let astral plane take you to the places you not thought but it may take you to the places visited by you earlier or not visited.
Practicing like this you can master astral visits.

Robert Bruce's stuff is the best.
i believe his original treatise on astral projection is still available online, for free.
his 30 day program book works pretty good, too.
but you'll have to commit time: lots of it. it's more than worth every hour and minute you commit.
