Problems with Wheat
Thought I'd post this in case it might help someone else.
For a LONG time, maybe 20 years off and on, I have suffered from seasonal allergies. It's worse at different times of the year, and worse or better in different cities. As I've aged it just got worse and more frequent. About 10 months ago I actually ended up in the ER because the pain in my back was killing me (it often goes to my back for some reason), and my head was always congested. My eyes were always running, lots of sneezing, etc.
I remembered one time I had stopped eating wheat and it had gotten better, so I went to a totally wheat/gluten free diet and in two days things totally cleared up and I have not had one allergy problem since. It was the wheat, which they put in everything. Read the food labels sometime and you will see it in foods that would surprise you. It's government supplemented, so it's cheap and plentiful, so they just stick it in all sorts of food. It took a while but I finally found some decent bread, and the gluten free pasta tastes and cooks up exactly like regular pasta too. I also changed my diet to avoid acidic foods and now I eat a lot more alkaline diet, which has reduced mucus build up.
Other people have had the same results, so if you want to try it, go for it. I feel like an idiot for suffering so long w/ this, but very happy it's resolved now.
