Tingling Head Sensation

It was more astral projection than meditation but I feel they are similar. I was lying on my back and trying to induce sleep paralysis when my whole body began tingling. I relaxed a bit more and my head started to tingle alot and I felt this pulse travelling across the left side of my head to the right. I didn't see anything or astral project in the end but i was wondering what it was? or could possible be?

I get this as well when I'm meditating on my back. For me, it always happens right before I enter into sleep paralysis and sometimes continues on into my sleep paralysis experience. I take it as a message from my body saying "All right, it's coming so get ready!"

Having not yet astrotraveled but am able to project my consciousness it is dificult to say for sure, however it does sound in the neighborhood of the crown charka becoming more open. Often when my crown charka and third eye open together there seems to be some type of connection with the pineal gland making my whole head tingly and often it's as if I can feel the energy currents moving all around inside, left to right or right to left not being uncommon.
Another possibility is a stage just before leaving the body for astro travel - I seem to recall Lopsang Rompa discussing this in his book You-Forever. It is followed by a mild jerk as the spirit disconnects from the body.
I'd reccommend trying it more, see where it leads...it sounds like you are making progress!

Its your body adjusting to an energy shift. Quite normal as you experience new energies.

You are becoming more sensitive to the metaphysical forces. Nothing to be worried about.
