Slowsnakes Poems from the 80's
Hello,
I never knew this part of SF existed until a short while back, but I would love to put some of my poems here!
When my dad died in 1987 I didn't really know what to say to my mother,so I wrote a poem for her,I asked her to read it as though my father was saying it to her,and I called it
Never Forget to Remember.
Never forget the way I looked when
we said our last goodbye,
And remember all the good times
when the sad times make you cry.
And if it makes you sad to think of
me,in the solitude of night.
Then remember me at sunrise, in
the golden morning light.
Remember me as the man I was,
with dignity and grace.
Remember me when the tears well
up,the smile upon my face.
And remember what you meant to
me,right from the very start.
Remember your the one I chose,
to you I gave my heart.
And never forget to call my name
whenever you feel me near.
And don't be afraid of the lonely
nights,when thoughts turn into fear.
The portal that's between us now
is a God created door,
Where I'll keep a silent vigil,
till we meet again once more.
And always remember what God
creates, also gives the right to take,
And no one knows another's thoughts,
and no one leaves here by mistake!
And,age means nought when the life
force dims, and the Silver Cord reels
in the soul,
And severs quick the earthly ties,
and shatters quick,the Golden Bowl.
Kind Regards Billy.
PS..I have published my poems on other websites,
and own copyright to any or all work in my name.
